Symbiotics is seeking a Manager Fixed Income - Africa. S/he will will manage the Africa fixed income investment analysts team. S/he will also head the regional office of the company in Cape Town, a team of ten staffs, and be responsible for financial, legal, administrative, organizational, and human resources tasks in close cooperation with the head office in Geneva.
Symbiotics is seeking a Manager Fixed Income - Africa. S/he will will manage the Africa fixed income investment analysts team. S/he will also head the regional office of the company in Cape Town, a team of ten staffs, and be responsible for financial, legal, administrative, organizational, and human resources tasks in close cooperation with the head office in Geneva.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Supervision of all activities carried out by the fixed income investment analysts;
- Supervision and monitoring of the operational and financial performance of investees;
- Participation in relevant investment and technical assistance related committees ;
- Consolidation of funding needs of investees and target investees for the whole region;
- Maintenance of regular contacts with microfinance professionals and network so as to improve access to the market, participation in African regional microfinance conferences;
- Definition of a yearly work plan, coaching, training, and performance assessments of the fixed income investment analysts;
- Maintenance of a positive working atmosphere and team cohesion within the Cape Town office and between the team and the head Office in Geneva, with regular reporting to the Geneva based head of business unit;
- Supervision of the financial, administrative, legal, and IT functions of the Cape Town office with the support of the Geneva based corporate services functions.
Qualifications:
- Dedicated to social and sustainable development;
- Previous experience in credit analysis, financial analysis or investment management;
- Previous experience in Sub Saharan Africa;
- Deep knowledge of the microfinance industry and impact investment;
- Sound previous experience in team management, experience in office management is a plus;
- Fluent English and French, Portuguese as an asset;
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis;
- Willingness and readiness to travel (up to 30%).
