• Job Title: Business Development Specialist (BDS) Green Society
  The Business Development Specialist (BDS) position focuses on planning, scanning, generating and delivering new ideas and leads, cultivates relationships with stakeholders (partners, donors, etc.), and facilitates the transformation of innovative ideas and solutions into sustainable programmes and projects which are considered to represent attractive social investment opportunities for donors. The BDS proactively focuses on the phase and process, leading from identification of persistent challenges in the Hivos Thematic areas to identification of key stakeholders to co-creation of space for innovation with key stakeholders until the successful formulation of solutions and termination of negotiations on resource mobilisation. The BDS scans, identifies and creates new projects and programmes, in line with Hivos’ strategy and profile and in order to achieve the objectives of the strategic plan and the impact of the Hivos vision to attain global funding targets and contribute to Hivos’ sustainability. In Particular the BDS focuses Regionally on Energy and in Malawi focuses on national program development/design and fundraising for the Green Domain in the thematic areas of green energy & green food and productive landscapes. The BDS delivers the complete Business Development  process regarding a specific institutional area/theme on a Regional/ international level: initiates, manages and implements specific Hivos Business Development projects: organises labs in which Hivos staff and partners develop ideas, manages professional and donor networks around themes, and translates ideas into viable solutions and into business for Hivos through successful resource mobilisation.
