Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Business Manager – NBS Bank Limited – Head Office – Blantyre 

Personal and Business Banking Division 

Reporting to the Head of Personal and Business Banking, the position is responsible for The marketability and profitability of the Bank’s SME product offering, Effective management of SME banking operations  overseeing service centers operations, establishing and managing the customer care platform for SME, Collaborating with the Personal and Business Banking Manager and Marketing Manager to ensure that specific customer insights are integrated into all operational processes, procedures and guidelines, Coordinating specific activities with other units as needed namely Operations, IT, Human Resources, Risk, Finance, Credit, Compliance and Legal 

Establish SME Dept policies and procedures and participate in periodic reviews of the SME product including credit policies and procedures, Lead the planning and coordinating the effective implementation of cash flow assessment based methodology to serve SMEs, Set growth targets and formulate implementation plan to ensure that each service center and region conducts business, interacts with clients, processes transactions, generates documents and submits data and information as appropriate in accordance with documented credit policies, guidelines and procedures, Achieve overall business goals and objectives on annual basis in regards to clients, loan portfolio, portfolio quality and profitability by continuously monitoring and evaluating the overall performance of the loan portfolio, Effectively manage and supervise all SME staff in the SME Dept and at the service center level in coordination with the PBB Manager, Prepare monthly reports for Head of PBB
and quarterly reports for CEO, Represent the Bank in  the industry key events and community engagements 

A Degree in any of the following fields Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration, A Masters qualification is desirable, A minimum of 7 yrs in retail banking or managing a large micro finance institution’s lending operations, Experience in retail banking product management especially in engaging and collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure product success, Experience in development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, budgeting, credit analysis, product and system development, and risk management 

Excellent organisational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, strong analytical skills, Good understanding of financial and credit analysis software packages with strong computer skills, High level of customer service and strong willingness to work in the field, Strong business management and negotiation skills, Excellent interpersonal, communication and training skills and experience managing and motivating staff
