Internal Audit Officer – National Oil Company of Malawi Limited (NOCMA) Grade PP1 – Head Office – Lilongwe

Must have at least a first degree obtained from a reputable university and 2 yrs experience, Those with experience in the oil industry will have added advantage, Must be willing to pursue a Certified internal Audit (CIA) course, Be effective at building relationships, Be innovative, have excellent planning and organising skills, Have excellent oral and written communication skills, High moral, ethical and professional standards, integrity and ability to deliver under extreme pressure, and Proficient in Microsoft Office Products

Reporting directly to the Internal Auditor, this role will assist in providing reliable and value adding independent assurance and consulting services regarding governance processes, risk management and internal control within NOCMA

Assist in preparing risk based internal audit plans and implementing the approved audit plan, Assist in identifying and documenting value adding insights on business operations for discussion with management and inclusion in audit reports, including assisting in formulation of effective action plans to address the noted underlying root causes, Assist in supporting other assurance providers like external auditors and regulators through liaison to avoid duplication and ensure adequate coverage of audit areas, assist in managing relationships with Executive Management and line managers to ensure compliance with internal controls across all depots and supports functions, Assist in conducting follow up audits to monitor management interventions on agreed action plans, Carry out special audits/investigations and/or other special assignments as may be required by Board and management from time to time or a s a result of routine audits, Assist in championing NOCMA risk management framework and Maintain an advanced knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and the functional business disciplines being reviewed to ensure that audit procedures are appropriate, timely and effective
