Technical Sales Manager - Sub Sahara Africa


Peak Well Systems is a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of advanced downhole tools for well intervention. We provide both operators and service companies around the world with an extensive range of innovative downhole products, expert field deployment capabilities and aftermarket support.  Our aim is to reduce well operating costs and improve well performance for our customers.

As Peak is expanding its business around the world, we are now looking for highly skilled and enthusiastic sales specialists.  The overall purpose is to deliver new and profitable business in the Sub Sahara Africa sales territory, providing front line technical sales support and building long-term brand loyalty for Peak products.

The role will involve the following, but are not limited to:
  • Identifying sales and rental opportunities for new business and develop appropriate strategies for winning and delivering them
  • Foster relationships with customers to ensure their business and contract needs are understood.
  • Preparation of proposals/tenders and their associated commercial evaluations and business cases.
  • Be a source of accurate and up to date intelligence for the customer and their contracting strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and current Customer Plans.
  • Build relationships with relevant senior personnel from major IOC’s, NOC’s, Independents and large service companies to identify customer needs, promote Peak’s products and technology, and foster strong brand loyalty.
  • Establish a robust market penetration plan for the Sub Sahara Africa in conjunction with the Business Development Director and Chief Executive.
  • Ensure the effective flow of information across Peak Technical, Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Focal point for customer audits of our business activities.
  • Measure, monitor and report on sales activities.
  • Assist in the collection of outstanding invoices.

The successful candidates will require:
  • Positive attributes – Enthusiastic, goal orientated with a positive problem solving outlook.
  • Minimum 5-10 years industry experience with either well intervention, sales in well intervention, downhole products or a petroleum engineering background with an operator or service company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to actively seek opportunities and tenacity to close them out.
  • Negotiation and commercial skills.
  • Ability to win work by being able to articulate Peak’s value proposition.
  • Ability to develop tactics to beat the market trend.

Must be available to travel within the designated sales territory and to other Peak locations.
