Role overview
The purpose of this placement will be to prepare for and conduct training of nurses and midwives in clinical instruction of selected nurses and midwives. The training will be conducted by VSO volunteers alongside local Malawian trainers who will in the process learn from each other on Clinical Instruction. It is planned that there will be two sessions for the trainings each running for a period of one week. The volunteer, together with local colleagues, will specifically run training workshops for serving nurses in clinical instruction skills from 25 hospitals where the seven THET project partner nurse and midwife training colleges place students for clinical instruction. The serving nurses already provide this support to the student nurses and often they rely on these student nurses in providing services to the patients.
