Assistant Accountant - Dignitas International

Supports Finance dept in improving and maintaining donor confidence in financial management system, compliance to statutory provisions, provision of management and financial reports and provision of financial transaction support program activities The Finance dept is responsible in fostering sustainable, solid and strong financial and administrative base for Dignitas with transparent and accountable financial system well established

Prepare payment and receipt vouchers ensuring financial procedures have been followed, Prepare journal vouchers for Expenses Reports after receiving adequate supporting documents, Ensures costs are allocated accurately to donors, Ensuring sufficiently and adequacy of supporting documents for each financial transaction, Ensuring work related advances are released only after receiving proper supporting documents, Recording financial transactions in Quickbooks, Assisting in payables and receivables management, Maintain Cash Registers and reconcile bank accounts, Making sure that the recorded transactions are all authorised, complete , accurate and properly field

Minimum PAEC or ACCA Diploma, Bachelors degree in Accounting is preferred, Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, Highly detail oriented and organised in work and ability to meet assigned deadlines, Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, an external agencies, to maiximise performance, creativity, problem solving and results, Minimum 3 yrs of work related experience, Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, Practical experience in using accounting packages is preferred and practical knowledge of Quickbooks will be a added advantage
