Deloitte seeks the following candidates on a contract basis for the program period:

Financial Management Specialist

A holder of ACCA/CIMA with a minimum of minimum 8 years professional experience of working on large accounts. Some of the major tasks will include, but not limited to the following:
    Maintain and monitor integrated financial management system.
    Preparation of financial reports and update current reports as necessary.
    Analyze financial records and reports and make adjustments as needed.
    Assist accountants and other accounts personnel on day-to-day financial matters.
    Assist in preparation, completion and review of monthly financial statements/ management reports.
    Assists internal and external auditors in their work.
    Review of journal entries prepared by the accountants before being posted into the system.
Required attributes include;
   Strong written and verbal communications skills.
   Previous experience with donor funded projects is essential.

Project Accountants

A finance related Degree with a minimum of 8 years professional experience in;
 Creating project accounts in established accounting systems.

 Maintaining project-related records, including contracts and purchase orders.
 Reviewing and approving supplier and contractor invoices related to the program.
 Reviewing account totals related to program assets and expenses.

 Investigating project variances and submitting variance reports to management.
 Draft financial management reports for submission to program management.
 Close out project accounts upon project completion.

Chief Financial Management Specialist
A holder of ACCA/CIMA with a minimum 10 years at managerial level with
  • Strong programme/project management experience,
  • Strategic leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, and
  • Previous experience with donor funded projects is essential
The incumbent will;
  • Oversee management of financial and accounting activities.
  • Ensure the integrity of all contractual relationships amongst program stakeholders.
  • Supervise personnel to implement, and maintain financial management policies, systems, structures, and procedures for the project,
  • Monitor and report on program budgets.
  • Assist program officers in ensuring compliance with procurements and accounting policies and procedures, compliance with USAID donor contractual and audit requirements.
  • Work closely with project officers regarding the project implementation planning and cash flow projections.
  • Assist with ensuring financial records and backup documentation are ready for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with timely reporting to the donor.
  • Assist with the safeguarding of program assets and reputation for ethical conduct and fiscal transparency

Internal Controls Officer Wanted at Deloitte Malawi

Deloitte seeks the following candidates on a contract basis for the program period:

Internal Controls Officer
At least a Master’s Degree in an audit related field with;
  • Experience in planning, organizing and carrying out the internal controls function including the preparation of an audit manual and audit plan,
  • Conducting risk assessment of all programme components.
  • Reporting risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to the programme management team and providing recommendations for improving the programme operations.
  • Identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses and engaging in continuous staff capacity building on best practices.
  • Reviewing the responses to internal and external audit management letter queries to ensure that recommendations are implemented and ensure that all action items are resolved.
  • Evaluating information security and associated risk exposures.
  • Evaluate the organisation’s readiness in case of business interruption,
  • Providing support to the programme’s anti-fraud programs,
  • Minimum 8 years professional experience.
