PURPOSE OF THE POST
Reporting to the Business Development Manager the purpose of the role is to operationalize the resource mobilization and sustainability strategy for Plan International Malawi.
In line with the Country Strategy and the income target for Plan International Malawi set in the country resource mobilization strategy, the incumbent will be responsible to expand and diversify the institutional donor portfolio as well as the corporate donor base. The post holder will work proactively with National Organization (NOs) in the Plan Federation, to identify and win appropriate grant opportunities by ensuring the timely and quality delivery of successful grant proposals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field.
  • Five years of professional experience spent in a resource. mobilization in the development and humanitarian sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of writing project proposals and obtaining grant funding for development projects from institutional donors.
  • Experience in coaching, training and facilitation.
  • Experience in identifying and developing fund raising opportunities.
  • Experience of working with children and communities and managing child-related program and projects would be an advantage.

THE PERSON
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the ideal candidate must be of high Personal standing and ability to assist the Human Resources Manager to provide a technically sound Human Resources service to the business and must have competencies in the following areas:
  • High level of Business Acumen demonstrated in the ability to provide HR business partnership to the line functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Malawi Labour Legislation with the ability to provide advisory service in employment practices and handling of employment legal issues
  • Exposure to dealing with Trade Unions from shop floor levels to collective bargaining negotiations
  • Knowledge and experience in HR administration with a bias in HR Information Systems and HR Analytics
  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge on Human Resources Development
  • Sound knowledge and experience in management of employee benefits not limited to Pension fund administration, Medical Aid Scheme and housing
  • Good understanding of SHE practices in a high risk work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and CSR initiatives
  • Experience in Quality Management and Continuous Improvement(CI) Practices
  • Computer literacy coupled with good verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of planning, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills

The Job
Reporting to the Chief Accountant, this role will be utilising technical accounting expertise to provide the following support
  • Coordination of monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
  • Monthly balance sheet and Income Statement Analysis and Reconciliation
  • Inter-company transactions and reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and compliance to internal policies • Interface with management in various departments

The Person Must have;
