The Harness Manufacturing Technical Leader will be responsible for the timely execution of the GE Transportation Technology Transfer contracts to support the global growth platform. In this role you will utilize your full understanding of the manufacturing of Locomotive harnesses.
- Ability to understand the product drawings / documentation and relay this information to the partner's team in order to meet production requirements per the contract.
- The following documents must be understood and taught as necessary:
Product Drawings
Documents of Technique
Manufacturing Standards
Technical Specifications
Documents of Quality Control
Tooling Drawings and Techniques
- Work closely with GE Erie personnel and fully understand the processes associated with manufacturing Locomotive harnesses.
- Educate partner's personnel on the technical training required in Erie as well as the technical service required in South Africa to meet the contract requirements.
- Accountable for meeting the quality standards required for successful engineering verification of the manufacturing processes.
- Understand product drawings / documentation and relay this information to global partners
- Create quality and manufacturing processes in the support of harness manufacturing in order to pass verification testing in country
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Minimum 4-year technical degree – Mechanical Engineering or steel fabrication related field.
- Minimum 5 years working with processes used in the manufacture of wire harnesses
- Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse team members.
- Must be self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible.
- Must be able to use various hand tools and inspection equipment as required in the manufacturing of Locomotive harnesses

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
- Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge wire harness manufacturing processes
- Self-directed, highly detail oriented, organized, and flexible
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical discipline
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse team members
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
