Role Summary/Purpose	The objective of the role is to support the Sourcing leader in consolidating and managing the overall Commodity or Country spend for GE businesses in Europe. This is a highly visible cross-business sourcing role, that requires strategic vision, result delivery, project and stakeholders management skills. The trainee will work very closely with the Commodity leaders and will run major projects all over Europe.
Essential Responsibilities	Assist the Commodity Leaders (and lead as appropriate) to: - Consolidate and manage Commodity / Country yearly spend - Develop and implement a Commodity / Country strategy for all GE Businesses across Europe, develop creative sourcing strategies beyond price negotiation: joint process improvement, outsourcing, etc. - Lead virtual teams with point persons in each business - Work closely with functional leaders at European level to prepare strategic changes - Communicate to business General Managers and other senior staff, obtain sign-off for projects - Lead data gathering and analysis process - Lead supplier negotiation, e-auctions and communication - Own and manage e-procurement strategy for commodity including content management - Work with businesses and suppliers to manage and track implementation of Corporate contracts - Liaise with US team to align approach and co-ordinate negotiations - Contribute to building and implementing best-in-class sourcing processes - Potential commodities: Information Technology, Purchased Services, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), Telecommunications, Utilities
Qualifications/Requirements	Excellent communication and networking skills  Fluent in English, additional European languages a plus  Energy enthusiasm and drive  Project management and change management experience  Previous sourcing or negotiating experience an advantage  Business or Engineering degree  Excellent understanding of key business processes and organizational dynamics
