The Government of the Republic of Malawi Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants as the case may be depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service.

Vac. 50/17
Post: Tourism Officer (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Tourism Regional Offices
Qualifications
  • Applicants should be either Senior Assistant Tourism Officers (Grade J)
  • with a minimum of four (4) years experience at that grade or non-serving in possession of a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management obtained from accredited institutions
Duties
  • Collect, collate and analyze statistics and other information required for policy formulation,
  • planning, marketing and monitoring impact of the tourism sector; maintain a comprehensive tourism information system;
  • assist in organizing special promotional projects and events on the annual tourism calendar, etc.

Post: Assistant Tourism Officer (Grade K)
Salary: Within the Grade K salary scale segment
Location: Tourism Regional Offices
Qualifications
  • Applicants should be in possession of a Diploma in Tourism Management obtained from recognized institutions.
Duties
  • Attend District Development Meetings; distribute literature;
  • inspect tourist establishments in the district; attend tourism fairs;
  • liaise with Immigration and Customs Officials in the district for better visitor’s management;
  • carry out awareness campaigns of tourism in the district, etc.

Post: Agriculture Officer (Horticulture) (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Agriculture Development Divisions (ADD)
Qualifications
  • Applicants should be in possession of a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture majoring in either Crop Production, Crop Protection or Horticulture obtained from accredited institutions.
Duties
  • Develop technical messages on crops production;
  • monitor the implementation of crops development programmes, etc.
Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be needed during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of appointment (PSR 19).
