Instrumentation and Programming Supervisor
Position Purpose
The role is responsible for leading and participating in preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance, programming and testing of all plant instruments and control system equipment in order to support the plant operations for an efficient and effective production of tobacco. The position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities
- Preparing and directing instrumentation technicians works in repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical and control systems to support plant operations.
- Performing and configuring programming of new equipment, calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems and instruments.
- Developing and designing new control systems; testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems; analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports; managing operations; troubleshooting and serving as a resource for instrumentation and control issues.
- Planning, scheduling and execution of shutdown and major overhaul maintenance activities.
- Developing and submitting the list of spares, tools and other materials required for maintenance jobs and issuing purchase/materials requisitions for approval.
- Maintaining and conforming to a high profile promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrument engineering Field or Advanced Diploma from a 3 year technology program related to instrumentation and/or programming automation
- Five years working experience with Instrumentation and Programming including two years of supervisory experience in the area of Operations or Maintenance.
- English (read, write and speak)
Skills Competencies and Languages
- English – Speak, Read and Write; Chichewa – Speak
- Computer – Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Auto CADD, Visio, PLC, and HMI programming packages
