ABOUT THE JOB:
Symbiotics SA is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst. S/he will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on investees or potential investees in allocated countries and coach and supervise a small team of investment analysts performing the same activities in other countries. S/he will report to the regional manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site due diligences of MFIs and SME financing institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa;
- Write credit risk appraisals, investment advisory reports, and social performance evaluations;
- Monitor global situation, opportunities, and risks in financial markets of the above mentioned region;
- Develop a pipeline of credit worthy investment targets in specific markets;
- Maintain and monitor a portfolio of invested companies, including monthly financial reporting;
- Support the development of new business opportunities in the region;
- Supervise and review the same activities as carried out by a small team of investment analysts.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience (3-5 years) in credit analysis, financial analysis, or investment management;
- Knowledge of the microfinance industry and impact investment;
- Previous experience in Sub-Saharan Africa;
- Proven previous experience in managing a small team a strong asset;
- Dedicated to social and sustainable development;
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis;
- Fluent English. French and/or Portuguese a strong asset;
- Willingness and readiness to travel (up to 30%).
