Corporate Affairs Manager
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Limited wishes to recruit a Corporate Affairs Manager to be based at Limbe office, Reporting to the Director, the incumbent will be responsible for liaison with govt and other relevant stakeholders in matters of trade, commerce besides offering advice, support and relevant statistical information and trends to internal clients and management
Track and report on key measurables relating to Illovo’s social economic profile, demonstrate the socio-economic contribution of Illovo’s operations that supports a positive regulatory and in environment for the company, Establish and maintain stakeholder maps for all stakeholders, including govt and NGOs involved in sugar industry activities, Interact with policy makers and key stakeholders in the area of sugarcane and sugar production and in accordance to company best practices, Sport positive market access arrangements in terms of regional (SADC, COMESA, TFTA, CFTA) and bilateral (EU, US, trading arrangements for sugar, Identify and deal with opportunities and threats in the key advocacy areas f Trade relations, sugar and nutrition, Regulations, Resource Management and Corporate Shared Value, and to deal with reputation threats associated with processes, Represent the sugar industry’s position to the Chamber of Commerce an stimulate support for strategic business issues which require Govt support, Provide statistical information and trends to management which reflect the parameters of the Malawian economy which impact ISML’s performance, Gather market information which is relevant to the achievement of ISML’s objectives through networks developed Got, NGO and industry associations, Establish and develop support for ISML’s objectives with representatives of the Malawi Govt in all countries in ISML trades, Ensure that ISML management are kept fully briefed on developments within the ACPLDC grouping, Liaise with the London Sugar Group to ensure that Malwi’s interests as an ACP member and LDC are represented Foster cooperation between the G4 groupings, Develop and optimize distribution channels for export markets n conjunction with the commercial dept, develop relationships and synergies with business which will benefit the company in terms of reduced costs or turnover, develop relationships with Govt and other relevant NGO stakeholders to promote greater understanding ISML’s strategic objectives and importance to the Malawian economy, Represent Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Limited (ISML’s interest on national committees and working groups which promote regional and world trade
