Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) was established by an Act of Parliament No 22 of 2011, by delinking Bunda College of Agriculture from the University of Malawi. The Animal Science Department at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is seeking to appoint outstanding candidates to fill the following position as soon as possible

Staff Associate/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor /Professor in Small Ruminant Production
Qualifications
  • Applicants must possess an appropriate professional degree such as MSc (with course work) or PhD in Animal Science or related fields.
  • Applicants with strong knowledge of small ruminant production plus 5 years working experience will have an added advantage
  • Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree with credit in Animal Science or relevant fields will be considered for the Staff Associate position.
  • Applicants for the lecturer position and above will be required to demonstrate teaching ability and should have a developing record of scholarly publications or dissemination of scholarly work in neer reviewed forums and professional achievement in an area of expertise related to small ruminant production.
  • The applicants should demonstrate a strong vision for building collaborative teams and working across disciplines as well as leadership ability
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students small ruminant production and related courses
b) Conduct research, outreach and consultancy in the relevant field
c) Supervising student degree projects
d) Taking active role in academic activities and committees as may be assigned from time to time
e) Establishing a strong funded research program in the related to area of expertise.
f) Developing an outreach program related the area of expertise

STAFF ASSOCIATE/LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ PROFESSOR IN PASTURE AND RANGE MANAGEMENT

Qualifications
  • Applicants must possess an appropriate professional degree such as MSc (with course wort) or PhD in Animal Science, Pasture Production or related fields
  • Applicants with strong knowledge of pasture and range management plus 5 years working experience will have an added advantage
  • Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree with credit in Animal Science or relevant fields will be considered for the Staff Associate position.
Applicants for the lecturer position and above will be required to demonstrate teaching ability and should have a developing record of scholarly publications or dissemination of scholarly work in peer reviewed forums and professional achievement in an area of expertise related to pasture and range management
