Transport Manager
Overall Mission
- Ensure adequate transport availability for movement of raw materials, finished products, and accessories.
- Manage road safety compliance of trucks, performance measurement of both raw material movement and finished products in order to ensure that the goal of zero
incident is achieved.

Main activitiies/responsibilities
Reporting to Logistic Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

- Ensure that raw materials (dinker, pozzolana, sand and gypsum) are weighed and records maintained in an orderly fashion for easy retrieval.
- Ensure that cement sold is weighed to confirm tonnage loaded against tonnage bought as per sales invoices and sales information in the sage system.
- Ensure that bag weight variation control mechanism is adhered to by maintaining all bag weights for cement dispatches within the tolerance of+/- 0.4%.
- Preparation of monthly summary reports for weighbridge operation and submitting them to the relevant Managers/officers.
- Raise GRNs for all materials received through the Weighbridge.
Tasks
- Processing weights and invoices for raw materials and cement within the required accuracy.
- Carrying out a physical inspection of cement trucks on second weighing if suspected to loaded more than what is indicated on the sales invoice
- Communicating the status of material deliveries against a regular basis.
- Raising Goods Received Notes for all materials received.
- Scrutinizing documents for any anomalies and irregularities likely to affect the company’s profitability and reporting them to concerned Managers and officers for
corrective action. - Timely reporting of any technical problems with the weighbridge (hardware and software) for timely resolution to minimize disruption of service to customers.
- Ensuring the safety of customers at the weighbridge.
Education and experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) certificate or its equivalent witH minimum 5 years experience in similar position.
Technical Skills
- Computer skills.
- Knowledge of cement bagging process.
- Knowledge of weighing equipment
- Customer relations skills
- Computer Literate
Personal Skills
- Listening and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Willing to work odd and extended hours
