Objectives
The Delivery and Performance Management Office is at the center of Bank’s efforts to drive performance across the institution and sustain focus on delivery. The Delivery and Performance Management Office supports the ambitions of the Bank’s Ten Year Strategy to achieve greater client responsiveness, institutional effectiveness and efficiency for enhanced development impact.
The role of the office is to oversee, lead and coordinate operational performance management activities across the institution, provide early warning on areas of non- performance and drive performance improvements in critical priority areas of the Bank.
Duties and responsibilities
The Chief Performance Management Partner’s core responsibilities include:
Corporate Performance Management and Delivery
- Coordinate performance management activities to ensure sustained focus on delivery of key priority areas of the Bank and reporting thereof.
- Engage with organizational units on operational performance management issues through the presentation of statutory and routine delivery and performance reports.
- Coordinate and facilitate the development and monitoring of VPUs performance contracts, delivery plans targets and trajectories to ensure enhanced performance and sustained focus on delivery.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of critical business processes and delivery systems to identify and address areas of duplication, inefficiency and bureaucracy affecting organizational performance and effectiveness.
Organizational Effectiveness
- Disseminate an enabling and constructive accountability and performance management culture across the institution.
- Design and implement integrated Management Information systems (MIS)
- Champion stewardship of corporate data to ensure consistency, timeliness, accuracy and completeness of performance data;
- Create transparency on all Bank’s initiatives related to internal performance
- Supervise Junior teams providing analytics and problem solving skills
Selection Criteria
Including desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- A minimum of a Master’s degree or an equivalent degree in business administration, management, finance, economics or other relevant fields;
- A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in performance management and reporting with solid understanding of both corporate and operational performance issues.
- Excellent technical, analytical skills with established track record in achieving results;
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiations skills to build consensus between competing interests and priorities;
- Proven experience in coordination activities with demonstrated ability to work across institutional boundaries with various teams and utilise talent and expertise of team members in a productive way;
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work on a variety of issues within very short deadlines, to take prudent risks and make effective and timely decisions;
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French with a working knowledge of the other language;
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and synthesize complex issues (translated into effective oral and written communications);
- High degree of discretion, tact and sensitivity in dealing with internal and external clients and stakeholders at all levels;
- Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint);
- Ability to work under pressure and perform in a multicultural and complex environment.
