Illovo Sugar Malawi Plc Nchalo operations situated 80 km South of Blantyre invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position in the Factory Department.
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Industrial Laboratory Technology or Biomedical Sciences. Those with Microbiology Analysis experience will have an added advantage
- Must have 3 years experience in a busy industrial Lab.
Duties
- Undertaking microbiology tests on sugar and water
- Aseptic sampling of sugar and water samples for microbiology testing
- Media preparations, inoculation of samples and results interpretation
- Cleaning and sterilization of glassware and equipment before micro testing
- Calibrating and checking all testing and massing equipment
- Preparing reagents and other chemical formulations for analysis
- Providing information for the preparation of operational budgets for the laboratory
- Providing on-the-job training courses on Laboratory skills
- Ensuring that Quality and Safety Standards are adhered to all the time
