Airport Developments Limited invites applications from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill the position of Human Resources and Administration Manager tenable at Kamuzu International Airport.
Person’s Specifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration (those with an advanced degree will have an added advantage).
  • At least 5 years experience on the job as Human Resources and Administration
    Manager.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be result oriented individual and team player.
The incumbent shall report to the Company Secretary and Head of Administration on matters relating to human resources management and administration. The candidate will be expected to interpret company policies of Human Resource, Terms and Conditions of Service. He/she will work closely with line managers to ensure that staff develop skills and competences required to accomplish the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities —
Human Resources Management
  • Formulate, coordinate and update Human Resources Strategic policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate implementation of Management decisions with appropriate human resources solutions in disciplinary and performance improvement procedures.
  • Maintain an effective and accurate human resources information system and database that assist in an effective utilization of the company’s human resources.
  • Advise and support Management and staff in all aspects of human resources policies and procedures and ensure that they are applied with the existing framework of labour laws and industrial relations.
  • Conduct and manage recruitment, induction, performance appraisal, training need assessment, confirmation of personnel and human resources development and training both long and short term courses.
  • To issue enforceable instructions to the line managers concerning issues to be carried out or not to be carried out as required by law.
  • To ensure that HIV and AIDS and Gender workplace policies are appropriately implemented.
  • To ensure that occupational health and safety guidelines and practices are adhered to and maintained in all departments.
Key Responsibilities — Administration
  • Coordinate and manage the company’s pension scheme.
  • Oversee the general office administration including the development and maintenance of operating policies and standards.
  • Management of company’s insurance portfolio ensuring that the company’s property is appropriately insured and maintain a proper inventory system.
  • Assisting the Company Secretary in the preparations of Board and Management meetings and act as a Secretary for Management and General Staff meetings.
  • Manage competing priorities and submission of relevant reports.
