As Project Manager – OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) you will have overall responsibility for the management of all project activities and staff and for reporting to the prime grantee. You will serve as representative of the project and will be responsible for the activities and all personnel under this grant. You shall have a keen understanding of the unique political dynamics and will work carefully and collaboratively to support the various relevant political entities in the target districts in the provinces of Zambezia and Gaza, Mozambique. You should also embrace the shared vision for the project and effectively manage available financial and human resources to make that vision a reality.
Requirements include:
- A Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, or related degree is required.
- At least 10 years of experience with health and HIV programmes in a developing country, preferably in Africa.
- At least 5 years of experience managing large projects requirements. Experience in managing inter-agency consortiums preferred.
- Experience in managing or working on PEPFAR funded projects is strongly preferred.
- Written and oral fluency in English is a requirement. Ability to communicate in Portuguese is an advantage and willingness and ability to learn Portuguese is a requirement.
- Position is based in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, with approximately 30% travel to the field (Gaza and Zambezia provinces) required.
