GIZ International Services is going to submit their Expression of Interest for an up-coming EC-funded project Technical assistance under the Rural Roads Improvement ProgrammeThe purpose of the contract is to provide support in policy dialogue, development, planning and management of rural roads including development of appropriate standards for road maintenance and capacity enhancement of key stakeholders in the implementation of Rural Roads Improvement Programme.The support will be focused on capacity building activities covering the following broad areas:
- Institutional development and sector advise on rural roads maintenance and management
- Decentralization of rural roads
- Road management and policy dialogue on standards and policies in general at national level
- Road mapping and database of roads
- Supporting the Road Fund Administration with concepts on financing of rural roads maintenance
- Support and capacity building to the construction industry
Your tasks
the inputs of the long-term and short-term experts. Your task is ensuring the successful implementation of all project activities in close coordination with the main beneficiary institutions. You are responsible for the achievement of clients' objectives. You maintain managerial oversight over the projects administrative and financial processes and ensure the compliance with GIZ Orientation and Rules, as well as EU requirements. You steer the team of international, regional and national staff according to GIZs personnel policy. You represent the project internally within the GIZ Senior Management Team and towards the GIZ Country Office Malawi. To the outside, you represent the project towards the client and governmental partners.
