Electrical Engineer
Lafarge Cement Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified, highly motivated team players and results driven candidates for consideration to fill the position of Electrical Engineer tenable at its head office in Blantyre, Successful candidate will be reporting to the Plant Manager
Ensure completion of electrical maintenance jobs with the highest level of safety, quality and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability, Apply preventive maintenance practices and contribute to their improvement, Ensure coordination and cooperation between his/her and other sections and with contractors
Annual budgeting for the electrical section, Ensure electrical safe work standards are understood, implemented and are constantly followed by electrical team including contractors, Develop plant electrical improvement plans to improve equipments reliability and life span, Oversee electrical execution works to achieve desired safety and quality of works, Monitor plant power consumption and carry out improvements to reduce power consumption to the minimum level possible, Oversee problem trouble shooting including PLC trouble shooting, Provide training to the electrical team to improve skills and review to address performance issue with electricians
Degree in Electrical Engineering plus a minimum of 3 yrs work experience in a busy manufacturing organisation, Experience in PLC will be an added advantage, Good computer knowledge (Power Point, Word, Excel), Must be familiar with good industrial safety practices, Must have good analytical and leadership skills
