Facilities Expeditor
An opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Facilities Expeditor in Malawi.
The Facilities Expeditor/Expendable Supplies Assistant reports to the Assistant Facility Manager and oversees the purchase, ordering, expediting and distribution of facility maintenance, construction materials and expendable supplies for use throughout the Embassy compound, CDC/USAID compound, PAS office at the Old Mutual Building, MCC offices at Pamodzi Building, Peace Corps offices and residential properties, the warehouse compound, MSGQ and over sixty GO and STL residential properties.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent orders or makes petty cash purchase of materials, tools, services, and gathers supplies information for reactive and preventive maintenance charged to Work Orders using USG purchasing and facilities guidelines.
The incumbent is also responsible for ordering, tracking, confirming receipt of and distributing construction and maintenance materials and services for the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural and custodial sections of Facility Management.
The incumbent monitors warehouse inventory control system to ensure accurate processing of stock and non-stock purchases.
Reviews annual inventory contracts for accuracy of product descriptions and recommends material substitutions when necessary to minimize dead stock, ensure quality, and timely receipt of materials.
Maintenance and Projects Foreman
An opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance and Projects Foreman in Malawi.
The Maintenance and Projects Supervisor reports to the Assistant Facilities Manager and Oversees, manages and directs all aspects of custodial operations for the Embassy compound, CDC / USAID compound, PAS Office, and warehouse compound. The incumbent ensures that all reporting requirements are met and manages the various short term projects and unusual tasking within the Facilities Management Office. The incumbent directly supervises a Welder, Maintenance Technician and two Laborers and three custodians
The incumbent will supervise contractors as issued to ensure proper quality control for each project.
The incumbent covers for the Ground and Materials Supervisor, Building Supervisor and/or Utility Supervisor when he / she are away from post.
