CARE is an international Non-Governmental Organisation that supports the improvement of livelihoods and capacities poor and marginalized households in collaboration with the Govt of Malawi and local partners

Care Malawi in collaboration with EGPAF is developing a community engagement approach to improve PMTCT outcomes, The approach will entail the adoption of the Community Score card targeting service providers, community structures and women of child bearing age especially those that are living with HIV to identify barriers to delivery and utilisation of PMTCT services, an degenerate appropriate solutions

CARE International in Malawi therefore seeks to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions


Gender and Sustainability Field Officers- 2 posts - Fatima East Bank

Previous experience in Gender related activities, Competence in Microsoft Office, Possession of a motor cycle licence, Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences, Rural and Community Development or in any relevant field with at least 3 yrs experience

Prepare budgets and TORs/scope f of work for activities to be implemented at community level, Plan and implement capacity building of decentralised govt structures and committees (i.e. ADC, VDC, youth clubs and gender champions)  in the institutional strengthening and governance, In collaboration with other purposes ensure that the specific trainings of the following committees and groups in UBALE cover issues related to Gender, governance, PPM, &E and resource mobilisation, Facilitate the theatre for development as a vehicle of social change using youth networks and clubs in collaboration with other Field Officers, Ensure that project targets for gender and social inclusion are met, and provide input to project monitoring and evaluation systems including the appropriate use of gender and social indicators, Plana and implement activities to promote gender equity in the project activities, Facilitate integration among all purposes for example, linking youth clubs to SILC, MCHN staff to gender champions, linking gender champions to all purposes, Support other project staff, community agents and local leadership to incorporate transformative gender approaches into program implementation, such as having women in the executive position of institution and their voice heard and included in decisions, Work collaboratively with project personnel, implementing partners such as key govt partners, NGO, other clubs and other local organisation in implementing project activities to foster, understanding of gender and social inclusion concepts amount them through, Facilitate the development and implementation of the sustainability plans at group village level an d ensure that Gender Equity and social inclusion strategy for UBALE Program is implemented
