Junior Project Coordinator – Lilongwe – GIZ
As a Federal Enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarberit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objective in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ operates in more than 130 counties around the globe. In Malawi GIZ has been working for more than 30 yrs. Malawi is a priority for German international cooperation and currently focuses on three priority areas: education, health and private sector development in rural areas. In addition to our work on these areas, we also work on public financial and economic management and social protection.
Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management, Immediately reports all problems involving activities and regulations to his/her superior
Monitoring and reporting - Support to FNSP reporting to SEWOH Coordination Unit in GIZ HQ, Support FNSP’s knowledge management, Conduct regular field visits in Dedza and Salima in close collaboration with GIZ District Advisors and FNSP’s implementation partners, Support to monitoring and follow up with the different implementation components and reports to FNSP team
Coordination and Implementation - Support to the preparation and documentation of bilateral and multi-lateral coordination meetings, Support to district based GIZ Advisors in coordinating programme activities and in collaborating with implementing partners, Support to FNSP team in the coordination of implementing partner’s activities, also in collaboration with other GIZ Programmes in the field of nutrition, agriculture, social protection and health
Duration of the post from October 2016 for 15 months with possible extension
Reporting to the Team Leader,
Support the coordination of FNSP’s implementing partner activities, Support to monitoring of project activities, Documentation of lesson learned
Bachelors Degree in Nutrition, Agriculture, Health and any field related to nutrition
Proven experience of at least 2 yrs in the field of nutrition, food security, agriculture, health an //or related field, Solid understanding of the Scaling up nutrition (SUN) initiative, Proven experiences in monitoring of food and nutrition security programmes in development projects, Familiar with quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, Good understanding of how the govt systems work including district councils
Strong analytical and writing skills, Good knowledge of computer applications, Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chichewa, Strong team working skills
