Position Summary:
Winrock International is currently recruiting Climate Change Adaptation Manager candidates for the anticipated Feed the Future Mozambique Climate Smart Agriculture (FTF CSA) Activity-Nacala Corridor. This will be a multi-year, $16 million cooperative agreement seeking to increase agricultural productivity in the Nacala corridor (Nampula and Zambezia provinces) by increasing resilience t climate change for smallholder farmers, sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and incomes, and adapting and building resilience of agricultural and food systems to climate change, reducing or removing greenhouse emissions where appropriate. The Climate Change Adaptation Manager position will be based in Mozambique and is subject to a project award being made to Winrock International.
Major Responsibilities:
The Climate Change Adaptation Manager will be responsible for the technical direction of the FTF CSA-Nacala activity.
Qualifications & Background:
Education:
- Master’s degree in relevant field of study, such as environmental management, agriculture, physical sciences, climate change, etc.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively professional experience as technical manager for donor-funded conservation agriculture and/or climate smart agriculture projects;
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate variability and change and agriculture;
- Experience within or specific to Mozambique strongly preferred;
- Previous project experiences working with the Feed the Future programs preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong inter-personal skills such as communication, negotiation, representational and program/project management and coordination;
- Quantitative and qualitative program design and implementation skills;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Language:
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
