ATM Support Engineer

Opportunity Bank Malawi, a registered commercial bank in Malawi, wishes to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) Support Engineer, tenable at the Bank’s Head office in Lilongwe
1. JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing, servicing, repairing and installing the Bank’s ATMs.
2. KEY RESULT AREAS
  • Monitoring resource capacity, utilization, performance and availability of ATMs.
  • Ensuring that ATMs are up and running at all times by dealing with service calls.
  • Installing, upgrading and configuring specialist applications as required by the service they enable.
  • Ensuring that all ATM operating systems are duly protected with up-to-date antivirus definitions.
  • Monitoring resource utilization and ATM performance and plans / executes preventive or corrective actions to maintain high efficiency levels.
  • Maintaining and tracking known application errors or problems documentation and matching associated unresolved incidents against the same Also keeping relevant stakeholders informed on resolution progress.
  • Regularly monitoring the incidence, trends, status and speed of resolution of enquiries and problems in regard to owned
  • ATMs, pro-active in devising improvements and recommending changes to systems, products or services.
  • Providing daily technical support to user requests.
  • Generating and publishing daily business and regulatory reports.
TECHNICAL SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of various ATM systems
  • Wide knowledge of and advanced skills in computer hardware and software programs of diverse functionality including but not limited to, communications systems, desktop applications, and network administration programs.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence; speak clearly to third parties and employees.
  • Team player with the ability to adapt and work co-operatively and effectively in different situations and teams to carry out assigned task
  • Ability to solve complex analytical challenges, independently analyze information, and make recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of ICT security
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a reputable high educational institution.
  • At least two years’ experience in managing and servicing ATMs.
