Malawi Institute of Engineers (MIE) and Board of Engineers (BOE) invite applications for the following vacancies tenable in Blantyre.
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
The candidate should have at least a Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution and two years post qualification experience and must be able to use accounting packages.

The successful candidate shall, under the supervision of the Executive Secretary, assist in all aspects of the MIE financial systems, reports, processes and internal controls; check and release payment vouchers and other financial transactions; capture funds transfers; prepare bank reconciliations; maintain and reconcile accounts payable; pay PAYE and other taxes; ensure all deposits are made in good time; file documents systematically; revenue collection and reporting, among others, analyse revenue trends, and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure controls; maintain and update MIE’s fixed assets register and assume overall stores management responsibilities.
The candidate should have a Diploma in Secretariat or Business Administration and at least advanced level MS word and MS excel. Be able to prepare power point presentations and those with more knowledge in using software applications will have an added advantage. He/she must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Secretary for an Executive Member of Management.
