Account Relationship Manager – Treasury


Treasury Sales is the key client contact-point for all Treasury business and is held responsible for the sale of treasury management solutions to new clients, retention and management of current client relationships.

This is a managerial position responsible for multiple lines of business and industry segments for customers with more complex treasury management needs. Focus products are foreign currency, short term investment products, fixed income solutions, international trade products and derivatives, just to mention a few.

Key responsibilities
  • Expanding existing business, identifying potential new business opportunities and providing the appropriate solutions, while generating revenue for the bank.
  • Conducting a thorough market research, understanding client needs and business environments, strategies, and industry in order to innovate by providing best solutions to address their needs.
  • Developing, managing and implementing sales and marketing process to include proposal and implementation strategy for treasury management solutions to clients.
  • Managing a growing portfolio of treasury management clients.
  • Managing relationships in line with the bank’s strong relationship banking culture, through on-going customer contact (client calling and visiting initiatives), writing call reports, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
  • Developing partnership with Client Managers to cross-sell and jointly generating and growing profitable business.
  • Accountable for product-utilization growth, through client-onboarding for business growth, both in values and volumes and its requisite revenue.
  • Producing winning responses to Request for proposals (RFP)or Request for information (RFI) from clients.
  • Promoting product and service awareness through frequent client meetings and discussions covering new products, market and industry developments.
Desirable qualities
  • Understanding of banks, treasury management and all bank products.
  • Must have existing client relationships and rapport with a wide client target base in Government, NG0s, private sector and quasi-Government.
  • Understanding of the competition’s capabilities and gaps to better position the bank
  • Noticeable executive presence, supported by articulate excellent presentation and communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Result oriented and evidence of winning new clients and meeting sales targets.
  • Mature, and responsible individual who can work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, dynamic and a fast learner.
  • Ability to work and cope with hectic work schedules and working in a fast paced environment.
  • Solid provable sales skills.
  • Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high stress situations and high paced environment.
  • Ability to lead teams to meet sales targets, both values and volumes.
Qualifications & experience:
  • Degree in business administration, sales and marketing.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of recent sales experience of products to clients, whether in financial services or other high-client dependent companies.
