Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation Malawi (BCM-CFM) is a not-for-profit organization partnering with the Government of Malawi in the health sector. The mission is to improve the health and lives of HIV-infected children and families through high quality, high impact, ethical, state-of-the-art, comprehensive care and treatment, training of health Professionals, and clinical research. Baylor-Malawi has an international reputation for innovative, evidence-based HIV service delivery programming.

The Baylor-Tingathe program was designed in 2008 to respond to suboptimal uptake of PMTCT and pediatric HIV services In Malawi. The program seeks to support Malawi in reaching the ambitious UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals, by improving the identification of HIV-positive persons, timely treatment initiation, and long term engagement in care. The program is funded by Equip Right to care and is operating in four districts. The vacancy has arisen for the post of;

Position: Transport Officer

Location:  Lilongwe
Reports to:   Senior Operations Officer (SOO)
Contract type: Full Time
Duration:  One year contract with possibility of extension

General Description
The Transport Officer is responsible for the general fleet management of the Baylor — Tingathe Fleet a, Transport Officer is expected to do the following.
General Job Purpose
  • Monitor and Track vehicles using Car Track Monitoring System
  • Monitor vehicle and recommend for repairs based on regular maintenance schedule
  • Ensure repairs on program vehicles are done properly, on time, and with genuine parts.
  • Evaluate vendors to ensure Baylor — Tingathe is getting the best value for money
  • Collect monthly vehicle reports and input into monthly excel database.
  • Manage program Drivers
  • Provide Recommendations from time to time to improve Fleet Performance
  • Monitor and Track Fuel for all vehicles and report discrepancies to the SOO.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration or any Relevant qualification
  • Those with experience in car mechanics will have an added advantage
  • Fluent in written and oral English and Chichewa
  • Familiarity with Malawi government Vehicle Regulations
  • Familiarity with Car Tracks software
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Products especially Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Ability to be a Team Leader.
