A blue chip multinational American company, in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics Industry requires the knowledge and skills of a Accounts Payable Agent. The successful incumbent will be required to attend to service supplier queries and ensure that all supplier invoices/ payments are made.
The candidate MUST reside in Malawi (Blantyre).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure creditors are reconciled and paid on time
- Check for duplicate charges and weight discrepancies
- Keep up-to-date rates and SLA on file
- Maintain a clean creditors age analysis
- Attend to creditors queries in liaison with branch managers and suppliers
- Accurate monthly accruals and allocations of same
- Keep track of service failures and deduction of same on payment
- Ensure all suppliers invoices, payments are paid and applied in AccPac
- Request cash in time for treasury
- Ensure payments are accurately captured payments on CAMS or Business Internet Solutions
- Control and manager creditors age analysis
- Attend to service supplier queries
- Identify opportunities for improvement
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- 3 years accounts payable/Creditors Clerk proven experience.
- Certificate / National Diploma in Finance / Credit Management is an advantage
- Small Business Management Diploma or equivalent (an advantage)
- Good computer skills – advance Excel is a must
- Excellent communication skills - English and Afrikaans
- Previous experience with ACCPAC
- Previous experience in the courier industry would be an advantage
