The Electricity Generation Company of Malawi Limited (EGENCO) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Senior Public Relations Officer
Position: Senior Public Relations Officer
Job Specification The incumbent will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for:
- Managing public relations, direct publicity programs and campaigns, improve public image of EGENCO Limited
- Assist in development of an effective corporate communication strategy for EGENCO
- Developing public relations strategies, seeking high placements broadcast and on line media
- Coordinate all EGENCO public relations activities
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests risks
- Advise management on how EGENCO business is affecting its clients and other stakeholders and make appropriate recommendations in that respect
- Evaluate and implement EGENCO activities and promotional programs and create motivational videos
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University majoring either in Journalism, marketing or communications. Those with a Master’s Degree in the relevant field will have an added advantage.
- Should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Should have not less than five years proven experience in public relations environment at middle or senior management levels and experience in working with high level government officials and business executives
- Should have experience and knowledge in acting as company spokesperson, comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews
- Should be proficient in microsoft office-outlook, excel, word, project and power point.
