Concern Universal (CU) seeks a dynamic, high calibre, motivated and high achieving individual to fill this key role in the organisation.
Concern Universal’s Malawi programme works in partnership with District Councils and communities to reach over 900,000 rural people each year in the areas to improve basic service delivery, reduce vulnerability and promote pro-poor economic growth. CU operates a highly decentralised structure and the DCD will be expected to take a lead role in managing and developing the Malawi programme in close partnership with the Country Director.
Our relationship with the central and local governments in Malawi, in-country donors and other partners are paramount to our work and the DCD plays a pivotal role in nurturing and growing these important relationships. Our key current donor partners in Malawi include Irish Aid, DFID, the European Commission, WFP, USAID, AusAid, Against Malaria Foundation and Solidaridad.
The DCD will be based in Blantyre. Substantial local and occasional international travel will be required.
