Purpose of the Job
  • To produce verbatim records of parliamentary proceedings
Duties
  1. Providing high speed and accurate word-processing and transcription services from audio recordings in conformity with Hansard style.
  2. Take short hand notes of proceedings or committees to supplement the audio record;
  3. Obtain speech notes and written materials form Ministries of members to assist the production of the Daily Hansard Report;
  4. Proof reading and conduct first edit of “takes’ before submitting to editors.
  5. Participating in the preparation and operation of the roster of turns;
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Business Management with 2 years experience of Parliamentary or Court reporting.
