Head of People and Administration - Malawi

It’s hard to believe that today over 663million people still don’t have clean, safe water and over 2.4 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute. 
WaterAid is looking for a Head of People and Administration to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.
As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), you are responsible for delivering people, organisational development and administration plans which enable the Country Programme to achieve its strategy and goals. 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Embed a Performance Management Culture
  • Support managers to implement, communicate and sustain change programmes
  • Support managers in identifying and maximising potential and drive development through succession planning and individual development planning
  • Be collectively responsible for the overall leadership of the Country Programme

To be successful, you will need to:
  • Have extensive experience in a senior HR role and at least five years at senior management level.
  • Fully versed with the principles and procedures governing the full employee life cycle. Have a solid experience in developing and steering culture change and a willingness to challenge the status quo are required.
  • Be an effective and engaging communicator.
  • Be resourceful, innovative and committed to role model WaterAid values.
