Principal Associate / Chief of Party - Mozambique

The International Economic Growth Division manages projects that are pioneering new approaches to agriculture, food security, climate change, and competitiveness—as well as monitoring and evaluating projects within these sectors. We work throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East for chiefly governmental clients, including the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a Chief of Party for an upcoming agriculture project in Mozambique. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Experience managing large (over $50 million) complex food security projects.
• Over 10 years of experience as Chief of Party or Project Director.
• Over 15 years experience working to increase agricultural productivity and marketing and/or experience in nutrition related interventions.
• Master's degree in agriculture, nutrition, economics, business administration or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and/or grantees; demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Experience with USAID preferred.
• Experience in Africa required; Mozambique preferred
• Portuguese or Spanish required; Portuguese preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

MA/MBA with 15+ years of experience OR PhD with 10 - 15 years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
