Area Coordinator, Inhambane, Mozambique

The Area Coordinator, Inhambane is responsible to provide leadership and oversight to all project activities in Inhambane Province and day to day functions of the field office.
This leader will have an opportunity to lead and guide our current programs which include Agriculture/Livelihoods, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, Food for Work, and others that may arise. The Coordinator will build capacity of the national staff technically and be a mentor for them spiritually.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Represent Samaritan's Purse (SP) at district and provincial level meetings with relevant stakeholders (government, NGO, and private sector partners).
· Cultivate new program and funding opportunities, including networking and building of relationships with relevant donors and partners.
· Initiate research, design, and writing of new project proposals based on identified needs and country strategic plan for Province.
· Implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of multi-sector community development programs in the Province, which include: WASH, Agriculture / Livelihoods, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), HIV/AIDS, Nutrition, Food for Work and others.
· Lead and provide vision for all staff operating in the Province, including hiring, orientation, supervision, and disciplinary procedures for all program, security, and logistics personnel.
· Oversee finances and budgets and ensuring Samaritan's Purse accounting standards are implemented.
· Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, and other program reports for internal use, as well as for outside donors.
· Contribute to and participate in the leadership, analysis and formulation of country office policies and strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as International Development.
· Master's degree in a relevant field such as International Development, preferred.
· One year of college-level Biblical studies preferred.
· Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven record of growth.
· 5 years of community development work experience in NGO context desired, Mozambique experience preferred.
· Experience and knowledge of various technical sectors such as Agriculture/Livelihoods, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), HIV/AIDS, Nutrition and Food for Work.
· Previous experience managing multi-sector grants funded by donors such as USAID, WFP, UNICEF, CIDA and others.
· Experience monitoring and evaluating development programs, with practical experience in designing questionnaires, cluster sample surveys, and focus group discussions.
· Fluent in English and Portuguese. Knowledge of a local language is an added advantage.
24 month contract with the potential for renewal.
