The International Health Division is committed to the improvement of health and healthcare delivery around the world. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight for designing, development, planning, implementation; and capacity-building of monitoring and evaluation of assigned unit level programs.
- Provide quality technical assistance to assigned country programs
- Provide desk and on-site monitoring and evaluation oversight to assigned unit program, as appropriate.
- Participate in resource development and other writing on assigned area activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Contribution
- Develop strategies and tools for the design and implementation of surveillance, monitoring and evaluation components.
- Manage the assigned unit's reporting cycle.
- Conduct monitoring visit to project sites.
- Conduct analysis of program implementation to identify areas of weakness or opportunity vis a vis the appropriate technical strategy and guidelines.
- Develop and monitor work plans, including surveillance, monitoring and evaluation workplans.
- Analyze data sets and technical assessment findings.
- Prepare reports and papers summarizing project results.
- Conduct presentations at professional meetings and conferences.
- Contribute to peer review publication in peer review journals and in international fora
- Ensure that project implementation adheres to the appropriate global strategy and remains technically sound.
- Provide leadership and team building at the assigned unit level.
Skills Prerequisites
- Has knowledge and experience in specific technical area related to, public health, HIV/AIDS/RH/FP, health and or development and/or social science research health programs in developing countries.
- Is informed on current program developments in unit area of expertise by review of current literature and alert colleagues and/or management team to any implication of such research for project activities.
- Has sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political and ethical issues in assigned areas, e.g. reproductive health, family planning, HIV infection, health and development
- Can interpret data and draw appropriate conclusions to their significance and relevance to public health.
- Is familiar with donor funded programs and communication styles.
- Has writing and verbal communication skills.
- Has relevant language skills (if applicable).
- Work independently with initiative to manage high volume work flow.
- Has relevant computer software skills at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office, data analysis software (eg: SPSS, STATA, EPIINFO, CHASS)
- MA/MBA with with minimum of 8 years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Degree in public health, statistics or social sciences preferable.

8+ years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
