Proposal Objective
SI is planning to bid on a performance evaluation of the Environmental and Natural Resource Management (ENRM) Project in the MCC Malawi Compact. The ongoing ENRM project’s objective is to reduce costly disruptions and ensure the sustainability and increase efficiency of Malawi’s hydropower generation. The evaluation will be looking at the ENRM Project as whole, and selected individual grants awarded and implemented under the ENRM and the Social and Gender Enhancement Fund Activity grant facility.
Position Description:
SI is seeking a GIS Specialist for the MCC Evaluation Design and Implementation Services, Environmental and Natural Resource Management (ENRM) Project in Malawi. The GIS Specialist will be responsible for providing support in producing visual maps of the Middle and Upper Shire River Basin, impact areas and spatial analysis of project. The period of performance will be one year, with the possibility of four option years.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in public administration, law, government, international relations, journalism, or other related field or commensurate experience is required.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, survey design, and GIS/information systems.
- Direct experience with MCC or other development projects in- country is preferable.
- Experience in Malawi or Sub-Saharan Africa required.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required.
