Malawi College of Accountancy is an autonomous Statutory body established by the Public Accountants Act (Cap 53:06) through Government Gazette number 164, 1980 under ‘The Education Act (Cap30:01)’ The College is responsible for the provision of raining services in the accounting and related field, The College has campuses in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu
Is the head of the college’s academic dept, which offers professional courses and degree programmes in the area of accounting, business management, information communication technology and marketing, He/she shall assist the Principal in formulating and implementing the college’s strategic plan
Is responsible for heading the Lilongwe Campus, reporting to the Principal as regards the efficient and effective operation of the campus
Assisting the principal in the general administration of the college to ensure its smooth running and efficient operation, Participating in the preparation and implementation of the college’s strategic plan financial controls and other operational procedures to achieve the college objectives, Participating in the design and delivery of courses and other training programmes, consultancies and research activities, As head of the academic dept, responsible for all academic issues, including supervising of academic staff, Performing any other relevant duties assigned to him/her by the Principal
In addition to being educated to Masters Degree level in a relevant field, applicants should be professionally qualified accountants recognised by ICAM and the Malawi Accountants Board, Applicants must have at least 5 yrs of proven business experience and/or academic experience at managerial level or at Senior Lecturer level and above for those teaching at a recognised institution of higher learning, Must have proven experience in consultancy and research and be able to lead and train others in preparing bids and proposals, and in carrying out research and consultancies, Must be a person of high integrity with excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, organisational, team building and strategic management skills
Shall be offered a negotiable performance related contract for a period of 3 yrs, with an attractive salary and benefits commensurate with the seniority of the position and qualifications of the candidate
