Deputy Director of Programming and Training
Peace Corps, in International Development agency of the US Govt, has an immediate opening for a new position Deputy Director of Programming and Training (DDPT) under the district supervisions of the Director of Programming and Training, The DDPT is responsible for overseeing key staff and several operational components of the Program and Training team to support quality programming and training (P&T), This individual is responsible for managing the Grants Manager, volunteer Support Assistant, and m& E Specialist to ensure consistent support and integration across program sectors, SS/he will assume a leadership role in establishing and/or operationalising systems and structures to ensure efficient and effective Programming and Training operations and Peace Corps Volunteer support, S/he will work closely with the Director of Programming and Training to coordinate and manage the annual Project Advisory Committee meeting an, annual reports to PC (Status Reprt0, Training Status Report and other strategic deliverables and meetings, S/he will oversee development of annual and quarterly P&T travel calendars and Peace Corps Volunteer site visit tracking compliance, records management a compliance including Volunteer site visit tracking compliance, records management compliance and including Volunteer information Database Administration, Peace corps Volunteer committee coordination, The Deputy Director of Programming and Training will also coordinate and oversee 3rd year extension for Peace Corps Volunteers and response positions in coordination with sectoral Associate Directors and will manage communications collateral including input on PC Malawi’s website, annual report, brochure, etc, The Deputy Director of Programming and training will serve in a leadership role and will be expected to assume responsibilities of the Director of Programs and Training in the absence of the incumbent, as requested by the Country Director or Director of Programming and Training
Degree in Health, Environment, Education, or a related field such as International development studies is required, Minimum of 10 yrs related work experience preferably with an international organisation in Malawi or in the region with progressive management responsibility, 5 to 7 yrs of experience managing, caching and supervising staff, Must have a thorough understanding of education, public health or environment programming and best practices to support quality programming and training through staff development and contributing to improvements in Program and Training and PC Malawi, Prove ability to plan, manage and support a dynamic team in accordance with US Govt and Peace Corps global standards and regulations, Excellent team building skills, Demonstrated problem solving and conflict mitigation skills, Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail, Deadline driven focus and ability to work in a fast paced multicultural environment, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Proficient in software programs including Microsoft Excel, Power point and Word, Solid understanding of education, public health or environmental programming a plus, Prior Peace Corps work experience is desirable, Must be willing and able to travel at least 20% to 25% of time
