Advanced Degree in social Sciences or related field, and 8+ yrs experience with progressively increasing responsibility for designing, managing and implementing complex HSS programming in developing countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partners, Demonstrated hands-on experience in building govt, non got, and community capacity to address HSS issues, 5+ yrs experience in implementing $10M per year in donor-funded projects and in the design and implementation of overseas health projects, preferably in the East and Southern Africa, Experience training health workers on aspects related to HSS and qualification as a “master trainer”, Skill in at least 2 or more of the following technical areas: HSS, strengthening service delivery projects, training, performance and quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation
Will provide technical and program oversight in the design and day to day management of implementation of health systems strengthening (HSS) activities, This includes improving district management of human resources, increasing capacity of district officials to advocate for and obtain the adequate human resources increasing capacity of district officials to advocate for and obtain the adequate human resource necessary for delivery of quality priority services and improving district-level strategic HRH planning and capacity building for HR managers, Technical Director will also work to improve district-level governance, management and policy
