Advanced Degree in Social Sciences or related field, and 8+ yrs experience with progressively increasing responsibility for designing, managing and implementing complex WASH programming in developing countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partners, Demonstrated hands-on experience in building govt, non got, and community capacity to address WASH issues, 5+ yrs experience in implementing $10M per year in donor-funded projects and in the design and implementation of overseas health projects, preferably in the East and Southern Africa, Experience training health workers on aspects related to HSS and qualification as a “master trainer”, Skill in at least 2 or more of the following technical areas: HSS, strengthening service delivery projects, training, performance and quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation
Will provide technical and program oversight in the design and day to day management of implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities, This includes strengthen the capacity of district level health facilities, central hospitals and community service delivery points, to deliver WASH services, Director ensures that WASH project activities align with Open Defecation Free (ODF) Malawi Strategy 2011-2015 and interventions harmonize sanitation and hygiene initiatives towards meeting the goals of the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy (MGDs)
