Executive Assistant to the General Manager

SimbaNET Malawi Limited is a network service provider operating a fiber optic network that connects Malawi to Tanzania and Zambia and provides access to submarine systems that serve the African continent with high speed internet and data connectivity. Based in Lilongwe, SimbaNET is looking for an Executive Assistant to the General Manager.
The Executive Assistant will manage external and internal communication on behalf of the GM, analyze and present daily/weekly/monthly reports for GM’s decision. He/She will also develop a quick understanding of the business environment, SimbaNET’s internal organization and ways of working.
She/He will work closely and effectively with the GM to keep him well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities while following up appropriately as well as provide secretarial support and handle all affairs related to smooth running of the office including management of stationery and office supplies, I.T. administration, general logistics and assistance with general HR duties.
This position calls for an individual who is a self-starter, full of initiative, confident, poised able to work to a demanding schedule and delivery deadlines and report at a senior level.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Essential
•    A business / management / social sector related degree
•    Strong communication, interpersonal and public relations skills to enable professional interaction with a range of people including Board of directors, investors, senior management and other staff, and senior  representatives from other industries.  
•    Demonstrated experience in the preparation of agendas and minutes, furthermore she / he needs to demonstrate experience in drafting correspondence, presentations, media items and reports
•    Highly developed time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
•    and to effectively manage multiple projects including the organization of events and functions
•    3 to 6 years of experience supporting C-Level Executives, preferably in a telecommunication  organization
•    Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners and donors
•    Excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
•    Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
•    Emotional intelligence
•    Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
•    Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
•    Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
•    Strong digital appreciation-Technology savvy make reports, analysis data and make presentations.
