This is a specialised health research organisation that works towards the development of capacity for conducting high quality research protocols in Malawi
 
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager
 
Develop and maintain a Pharmacy Plan according to recommendation and requirements form international research sponsors, develop and maintain pharmacy standard operating procedures for research study protocols, Perform day to day pharmacy activities and study product management including but not limited to procurement, inventory, preparation, dispensing, accountability, record keeping, labelling and final disposition of study products for research trials, Work with Malawi Pharmacy and Medicines Board regarding import arrangements for study drugs, Source supplies used by the pharmacy and clinics as needed, Ensure that primary care drugs are available at all times and should be able to prepare and dispense with proper documentation, Ensure that temperature in the drug store, refrigerators, and freezers is controlled and maintained a specified in protocols, Advise study teams on pharmacy issues that impact clinical management, Maintain annual research-related and professional qualifications, financial disclosures as required and regulatory personnel documentation as required, such as an updated CV, Host external site inspectors, monitors or auditors as needed, Document all Pharmacy affairs such as but not limited to the records of drug receipts, drug dispensation, temperature records, drug returns and drug destruction records, Perform quality control of all dispensations and client charts, Conduct routine physical inventory at central pharmacy and clinical pharmacies, Ensure appropriate methods of disposal or return of unused or expired research drugs, Generating of routine reports and case reports on pharmacy activities
 
Collaborate - Participate in pharmacy and protocol-specific conferences calls, Participate in weekly group site meetings and departmental meetings, Communication with pharmacists at the research sponsor organisations, Work with peers from within the college of medicine as needed, Attend and participate in related pharmacy meetings within the College of Medicine affiliate institutions, Team player
 
Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institution, 2 yrs experience as pharmacist, Registered with Pharmacy, Medicine and Poisons Board
 
Knowledge/appreciation of HIV epidemiology in Malawi preferred, Research background preferred, Willing to work at times as demanded by the protocols, Attention to details
