CAMRIS seeks a seasoned Chief of Party (COP) to support USAID/Malawi’s upcoming One Communityactivity to help mitigate the impact of HIV, reduce HIV incidence, and improve clinical outcomes among targeted priority populations through comprehensive community-level activities. Additionally, the One Community activity aims to prevent new infections among targeted Malawian priority populations to enable them to achieve their maximum potential as individuals and citizens of Malawi.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The COP will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and program oversight on behalf of CAMRIS, and will serve as principal liaison to USAID and national GOM staff.
- S/he should have a deep understanding of the One Community program objectives and be able to articulate the vision for the project.
Required Qualifications:
- The proposed candidate must have at least 10-15years experience in managing complex public health programs, preferably with experience in Africa. The COP must have demonstrated skills in English at level IV or the equivalent
- S/he must have at a minimum a Master’s Degree in public health, social services, management, business administration, or a comparable degree. A terminal degree (e.g.; PhD; DSC; DrPH) in public health or a related field (e.g.; social science; social epidemiology) is highly desirable.
- The candidate must have demonstrated strong management skills, strategic vision, leadership qualities, professional reputation, ability to create synergies where applicable, interpersonal skills, and written and oral presentation skills to fulfill the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the project description.
The proposed candidate must demonstrate:
- At least five years demonstrated state-of-the-art complementary experience within the capacity as mid-level or senior staff in at least five of the following areas: Impact mitigation, community care, HIV prevention; SBCC; community engagement and mobilization; civil society capacity building; behavioral interventions; M&E; operations research; project evaluations related to HIV prevention, care, and/or treatment.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing innovative approaches in integrated community HIV prevention, care and support, working with OVC, HIV prevention integrated into care and treatment, family planning, and other health services.
- At least five-year experience in program management and administration, financial management, award contractual compliance, sub-award management in other countries of the world especially in Africa, and tracking project performance and costs via specific funding streams

- A record of peer-reviewed publications
- •Five years’ experience of managing related projects
