CAMRIS seeks a Senior Technical Advisor, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Care to provide support USAID/Malawi’s upcoming One Community activity to help mitigate the impact of HIV, reduce HIV incidence, and improve clinical outcomes among targeted priority populations through comprehensive community-level activities. Additionally, theOne Community activityaims to prevent new infections among targeted Malawian priority populations to enable them to achieve their maximum potential as individuals and citizens of Malawi.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Senior Technical Advisor, OVC & Care Programs is responsible for overseeing the OVC component of the project. S/he will supervise all activities at the community levels relevant to orphans and vulnerable children and impact mitigation responses.
- Working in closer link with other relevant staff of awardee and community-based organizations, s/he will oversee the identification of vulnerable families, and their children and plan intervention with them.
- S/he will coordinate the referral services and ensure continuum of care from the community to the health facilities and vice versa.
Required Qualifications:
- The Senior Technical Advisor, OVC and Care Programs must have at least 10-15 progressive years of experience as a Specialist with a reputable NGO or donor agency.
- S/he must have thorough knowledge and understanding of project management principles, theories, practices and especially on community and Government engagement processes.
- Additionally, s/he must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and have a high proficiency in the use of computer, particularly in Microsoft Office etc.
- S/he must have a degree in Social Sciences, public health, or a related field.
