Senior Technical Advisor, Combination Prevention Programs

CAMRIS seeks a Senior Technical Advisor, Combination Prevention Programs to provide support USAID/Malawi’s the upcoming One Community activity to help mitigate the impact of HIV, reduce HIV incidence, and improve clinical outcomes among targeted priority populations through comprehensive community-level activities. Additionally, the One Community activity aims to prevent new infections among targeted Malawian priority populations to enable them to achieve their maximum potential as individuals and citizens of Malawi.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • responsible for improved utilization of high quality HIV prevention, care and support, and related mitigation interventions, as well as reciprocal referral and linkages to ensure continuity of care across the continuum;
  • Increase adoption of behaviors that reduce HIV transmission, acquisition, and mitigate impact; and,
  • Strengthening capacity of Malawian structures to lead, coordinate, and implement HIV prevention, care, and impact mitigation responses.
Required Qualifications:
  • The proposed candidate must have at a minimum 10-15years of experience in implementing national, multi-disease health projects.
  • S/he must have demonstrated skills in English at level IV or the equivalent.
  • S/he must have at a minimum a Master Degree in health or social sciences, or a related advanced degree relevant to the field of public health.
  • The proposed candidate should have substantial demonstrated experience in HIV prevention targeted to vulnerable populations.
  • The proposed candidate should have substantial experience in at least five of the following technical areas: HIV prevention targeted to priority population; HIV prevention targeted to adolescents and youth; HTC; Positive Dignity, Health and Prevention; social and behavior change communications; community development; gender; GBV; quality improvement/ quality assurance; civil society capacity building; the use of epidemiology and data in program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation; qualitative research; and policy and advocacy.
  • S/he must have demonstrated experience in implementing and assessing innovative approaches in HIV prevention and HIV prevention integrated into care and treatment, family planning, and other health services.
  • At least five years demonstrated experience in managing and supervising a team.
