Position Summary
IREX seeks a Finance and Administration Manager to provide oversight for budgeting, grants, human resources and other administrative and operational aspects of an anticipated USAID-funded program to build the capacity of civil society organizations in Malawi.
The position is contingent on funding.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of project financial, administrative and operational activities as member of leadership team
  • Assure that the program meets all IREX, USAID and host country requirements relative to funds accountability and operations
  • Track and analyze all costs incurred and ensure that appropriate financial policies and practices are established and maintained
  • Oversee grants management, financial management, procurement and human resources in compliance with US government regulations and IREX policies
  • Monitor project budgets and provide required reporting
  • Coordinate closely with IREX headquarters Finance and Grants Compliance teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field
  • At least five years of experience in financial management and/or project administration; experience with USAID or other US government programs strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Malawi accounting, taxation, human resources and related practices
  • Expertise with procedures required for planning, monitoring, and realigning of budgets
  • Experience overseeing grants and supporting grantees in meeting the requirements of their award, including through capacity building for partner organizations
  • Demonstrated success in managing and compiling financial data for reporting and ensuring compliance with all donor requirements
  • Excellent IT skills for financial management
  • Experience in managing staff preferred
  • Professional proficiency in English is required
